Der Lidstrich muss nicht in einem Rutsch gezogen werden: Es können auch zunächst einzelne Punkte am Wimpernkranz entlang gezeichnet und hinterher verbunden werden. Oder es wird zunächst von der Lidmitte aus nach außen ein halber Lidstrich gezogen und anschließend die zweite Hälfte von innen zur Mitte. Der Lidstrich hält besonders gut, wenn das Augenlid vorher mit einem Lidschatten oder Puder grundiert wurde.
