El corrector se puede aplicar a toquecitos sobre las imperfecciones tanto antes como después de la base, pero también es adecuado para el contouring. Para ello, el corrector debe ser uno o dos tonos más claro que el tono de piel propio y aplicarse en la frente, la barbilla y el puente de la nariz. Además, el corrector permite disimular las ojeras: simplemente aplica un poco de corrector bajo el ojo en forma de triángulo invertido y difumina.
